For every part a dog has it is proportioned for their size. Like the pads on their paws, they are proportioned to the dog. Cats also have pads on their paws but dog's are stronger than cats. Different dogs have different kinds of ears like on a Lab, their ears fold over the ear opening. Perhaps to prevent water from coming in when they swim. When they are listening they lift the base of the ear. Border Collies lift the whole ear for them to hear. All dogs have keen sense of hearing.
